Review 027 : Rob Zombie – Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser – English

Rob Zombie - Logo

Do I really need to introduce Rob Zombie ? His real name is Robert Bartleh Cummings, he was the singer of White Zombie and now he sings for himself, he’s a horror filmmaker (remakes for Halloween 1 and 2, House of 1000 Corpses, The Lords Of Salem…), comic book author… A true legend.

On stage, he gathers John5 (ex-Marilyn Manson), Piggy D (ex-Amen, ex-Wednesday13) and Ginger Fish (ex-Marilyn Manson, ex-2wo, ex-Loser) on a background filled with classic horror movies. Rob Zombie plays an Industrial Metal music, fullfilled with samplers, heavy riffs and his particular voice. Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser was released last month. If you like horror movies, keep your ears open !

Rob Zombie - The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser

The Last Of The Demons Defeated is the proof that Rob Zombie comes back to his old sound. Somewhat missing on the last full-length, this introduction is perfect to reconciling with the past. Rob Zombie is back. Satanic Cyanide! The Killer Rocks On! is born from the old albums, then it quickly changes for The Life and Times of a Teenage Rock God with the catchiest chorus of the album. Teenage Rock God !
Well, Everybody’s Fucking in a U.F.O. is the first single, but in my opinion it’s not the best choice. This song is the softest one, it’s obviously not the reflect of his work. A Hearse Overturns with the Coffin Bursting Open let the skilled John5 to express himself to let us wait before The Hideous Exhibitions of a Dedicated Gore Whore that starts with a sampler. The song is what we can expect of Rob Zombie‘s music. This track is the one I expect to see on stage.
Medication For Melancholy will increase the tempo before In the Age of the Consecrated Vampire We All Get High, the heaviest song. The first opus’ roots are back for our highest pleasure. Super-Doom-Hex-Gloom Part One is the sampler (from we don’t know which planet) introduction for In The Bone Pile which reminds us once again his golden age, fifteen years ago.
Get Your Boots On! That’s the End of Rock and Roll will highlight Piggy D‘s bass on John5‘s lead guitar parts, to finish with the slowest song, but also the best one in my opinion : Wurdalak. This track is really simple, but powerful.
Patience was require, but Rob Zombie gaves us what we expect for a moment, a great Rob Zombie album. His small European run is booked for october 2016, but I can’t wait to see the man on stage again !
