Deadmoon returns with a second EP.
A few months after his first production, Brazilian musician August (all instruments/vocals) announces the release of Forest of Shattered Dreams for summer 2023.
The album gets off to a gentle, melancholy start with Flower’s Tear/My funeral was seen by Trees, whose introductory piano is shattered by haunting Black Metal and intense howls of despair. Airy dissonant tones clash as screams guide us through this devastated world, leaving a few soothing touches to live in the background before giving way to Forest Of Shattered Dreams, the eponymous track, which also reveals piercing touches while strengthening the power of darker parts. A rejuvenating break offers us a moment’s respite before a few leads let our minds wander, followed by the pure darkness that invades us again on Sterile Nails and Thunderbowels, a cover of the legendary Swedish band Silencer, to which the musician adds his fascinating ethereal touch, while keeping the intensity.
Still relatively discreet, Deadmoon already knows all about the most striking and melancholy aspects of Black Metal. Forest of Shattered Dreams is still very short, but it offers a second look at this intense universe.
