New transmission for Mütterlein.
In 2025, the project led by musician Marion Leclercq (Eitrin, ex-Overmars) signed to Debemur Morti Productions offers us its third album, Amidst the Flames, May Our Organs Resound.
Treha Sektori, Dehn Sora‘s project, wrote and played the two tracks entitled Memorial.
Anarcha greets us with dark, catchy Industrial tones that eventually become quite ominous too, thanks to the more ethereal parts that are grafted onto them, before giving way to new, even heavier elements on Concrete Black. There are haunting, distant cymbals, but also percussion that complements the keyboards, creating oppressive Aggrotech touches that serve as the basis for the raw vocal parts. This heavier moment ends up hypnotizing us before returning to its original simplicity, then mystical notes carry us through to Wounded Grace, where the approach is relatively similar, slowly immersing us in mystery before revealing its true darkness, as virulent as ever, with a hint of extra aggression on the drums. The moment’s coldness is offset by some rather warm keyboards in the background, testimony to an intriguing duality followed by that of Memorial One where the musician gives us no time to think before plunging us into her haunting dissonance for a long while before introducing new elements. Some of these are more hazy, but Division of Pain takes over and drowns us once again in its torrent of intensity, which is initially rather chaotic, then calms down to give us a moment’s respite before very slowly bringing back the elements that make it up. The sound breaks, then Ivory Claws takes its place, weaving its own web of darkness made of layers of keyboards and percussion, but also more eerie elements like vocals and crystalline notes. The rhythm intensifies all at once, taking our spirits into its dance before calming down to let Memorial Two replace it with intoxicating ritualistic tones that are a little softer, closing the album without shaking us too much.
On Amidst the Flames, May Our Organs Resound, Mütterlein offers a rather unusual experience, blending many different and complementary elements to form a single, tenebrous, yet welcoming ball.
