Review 2901 : Demiurgon – Miasmatic Deathless Chamber – English

Get ready for Demiurgon‘s assault.

Following an initial incarnation from 2001 to 2014 under the name Hatred, the band led by Stefano Borciani (vocals, Instigate), Dani Benincasa (guitar, Darkend), Emanuele Ottani (guitar, Unbirth, ex-Valgrind), Umberto Poncina (bass, Huronian, Valgrind), and Riccardo Valenti (drums, Darkend, Unbirth) collaborated with Transcending Obscurity Records in 2025 for the release of Miasmatic Deathless Chamber, their third album under this name.

We get straight to the point with Worldwide Grave, the first aggressive composition where a fairly fast tempo allows killer riffs to assault us, effortlessly displaying screaming harmonics and ferocious vocals. Blast beats and staccato guitars echo each other, but the track is quite long and allows for a few rhythm changes to accentuate the accelerations before moving on to the equally virulent The Era of Defiance, which redoubles its efforts to break our necks with some very effective riffing. The leads add an unsettling and chaotic touch to the catchy old-school mix, then Aspiring to Omnipotence hits us with screeching, almost disturbing guitars that fit perfectly with the oppressive atmosphere. Fans of technicality will be won over by this track, which combines complexity and raw violence, while Miasmatic Deathless Chamber almost allows us to breathe before letting go of the reins, leading to ever more abrasive sounds, easily reminiscent of the influences of certain American bands during their most massive moments. We continue with Flashforward to the End, which displays the same infernal roots with a long instrumental section before allowing the vocalist to scream again, making us want to bang our heads frantically, just like on Throne of Derangement, which follows suit and displays a similar virulence. The vocals diversify a little, offering a few visceral passages to complement the thick rhythm, but the track is short, and quickly gives way to Apoptosi, the last composition, which doesn’t waste a single second and hits with full force thanks to a similar approach, skillfully mixing furious riffs and more elaborate peaks as well as unexpected accelerations, leaving us with an excellent impression before the final sample.

Combining raw riffs and more technical passages to perfection, Demiurgon makes a big splash on the Death Metal scene with Miasmatic Deathless Chamber! The band has used its silence to its advantage to create an excellent album that will leave a lasting impression!
