Hammers out, Acrania and Vulvodynia are back!
The two Brutal Slam/Deathcore bands associate to create an alliance in the name of the Bree, mosh and musical violence between England and South Africa. The name of this split? Societal Lobotomisation.
At this occasion, the bands decided to make Logotomy Designs melt their logo to create Vulvocrania, the ultimate Slam entity, of which gory artwork is made by Armaada ART.
We begin with no kind of fineness with Guillotine Necktie. We find this raw strength, Luke Griffin’s piercing howlings as well as the dancing but brutal rhythmic from Acrania in this catchy song. Vulvodynia strikes back with Aborning Pestilence and this demonic laugh that introduces the dark but crushing composition. Unsurprisingly, the sound is greasy and filled by shrilling technical harmonics that give relief to a monstrous rhythmic. To face it, Acrania offers the impressive Legions Of The Unenlightened, an unfurling wave of rage with well-placed bassdrops for a monumental effect. The sound is also very raw and the dark dissonance they add coupled to the singer’s howlings give it an obscene flavour. The last strike comes from Vulvodynia with the unhealthy Aborning Pestilence. Duncan Bentley’s powerful screams melted to the sharp guitar trio and this thick basis offers us something to move on, but also to hope for the live concerts comeback.
Is the unholy and greasy alliance of Vulvodynia and Acrania a good thing? Sure it is! The two modern Slam heavyweights offer us with Societal Lobotomisation something to be crushed and assaulted on in their respective styles!
