Incarceration strikes again.
Four years after their last release, a live split with Devastator, Irate Architect, Endseeker, Morbitory and Torture Gut, the band created in 2010 in Brazil by Daniel Silva (bass/vocals, formerly guitar/vocals, Mortificy) releases an EP called Empiricism. The line-up is completed by Michael Koch (drums) since 2013, but also Capaça (guitar, Violator, Scumbag) and Alex Obscured (guitar, Speedwhore).
Four tracks pure dark Old School Death Metal dyed with mad Grind illustrated by Rodrigo Salvatierra (Leviathan, Ancient Crypts, Rebirth in Flames, Swampbeast…), that begin with Chthonic Pulse after a soft heady melody. The song is very long, and allows the band to develop a true wave of sound aggressivity and violent dissonance. Riffs are slowing down while wearing more weighing mystical tones, then Psychic Totality begins, unveiling shrilling melodies, to go with those unleashed howlings. Beneath the Chains of Existence stays into those thick Old School riffs with piercing leads while the rhythm part seems to be unfathomable and unstoppable, only slowing down to offer more groovy parts. The EP ends with Chasms of Metalflesh, a song that alternates between waves of rage and hooking harmonics.
Incarceration’s recipe is forged between rage and pure violence. Empiricism is very short, but it allows to show what the band is able to do, which means ravaging your speakers.
