SaaR and Maudits reunite for a split.
Both signed to Source Atone Records, the two French bands who have been playing instrumental Post-Metal for several years, unveil their new creation in 2022.
SaaR opens this split with Loved, a track which slowly begins with dissonant and quite progressive sounds accompanied by steady beats before the sound flares up and finally returns to haunting and heavy sounds. The heartbreaking leads coupled with the crushing heaviness drive us into a soft break before returning to saturation, reviving the airy and heady melodies until the dark final.
Maudits follows with a longer track in three parts which reveals worrying and mysterious sounds before getting darker with the arrival of oppressive saturation. The throbbing, dissonant tones are accompanied by mournful violins, heady leads, and then the sound suddenly stops, letting sweetness rebirth in this clear sound which lets the progressive, saturated intensity come again, then it will also be broken to welcome strange noisy elements. The instruments integrate themselves into this new universe before engulfing it under their bewitching sound, which will accompany us until the end.
Although they both have their own identity, we can easily notice that SaaR and Maudits have similar elements which perfectly follow each other. After this excellent split between the two bands, could we expect a collaboration? I hope so.
