Indian Nightmare is in for a rude awakening.
Now led by Jaguars Claw (vocals, Morbyda), the band formed in 2014 by Dodi Nightmare (guitar), Barry Isntepp (guitar, Moros), Cedro Ced (bass, Nihildum) and Corrado “Lalo” Linzi (drums, Speedwhore, ex-Minkions) unveils its new EP, Banished into Endless Chaos, in collaboration with High Roller Records.
After a long feedback loop, we start with Looking into the Fire’s piercing melodies, a first track that easily shows its Speed roots, both in the virulent instrumental and in the screaming vocals. The Old School mix perfectly matches this raw approach and aggressive punk roots, which darken and become almost unhealthy on Secret Path, the next track. The band’s sound has a wild Thrash feel to it, but it also has a horror-movie feel to it, not least thanks to the vocal before the break and the penetrating harmonics, but the atmosphere changes with the hypnotic introduction to Lucifer, very dissonant and ethereal. Rage returns again and again, tinting the track with its steady rhythm, whether with spikes of speed or its more haunting riffs, but above all with the elaborate finale where the guitars come to the fore one last time.
Although a little short, Banished into Endless Chaos allows Indian Nightmare to introduce their new vocalist, but also to reassure us of their determination to combine their aggressive riffs with the same fervor.
