New EP for Godless.
After a few lineup changes, Abbas Razvi (bass) and Moiz Mustafa (guitar), now accompanied by Nikhil Rajkumar (drums, Demonic Resurrection) and Nangsan Lyngwa (vocals, Catatonic, Nangsan, ex-Plague Throat) unveil Genesis of Decay.
It doesn’t take long for the heavy Amorphous Mass to nail us to the floor with its relentless flow of brutality, accompanied by a massive double kick and violent blast. The track accelerates without warning, keeping the thick growl before introducing a more furious scream on Doctrine of Hate and its fast riffs, alternating the two vocal techniques to accompany the violence of the instrumental. Silent Oppression follows with a jolting rhythmic beat bolstered by a few chaotic leads, and I’m absolutely certain that this track has all the potential needed to provoke moshes and other movements live. The band gives us a minute’s respite with Prologue to Dissent, but the ominous interlude quickly shifts to Echoes of Collapse, where the savagery picks up speed again, hitting us with its heavy rhythm and sharper keys right up to the very last moments.
Godless stays on track, offering us Genesis of Decay, a solid, if somewhat short, EP. The presentation of the new line-up has been made, and now we can look forward to a violent follow-up!
