Review 2684 : Vulvectomy – Aberrant Vaginal Gestation – English

2025 marks the return of Vulvectomy!

12 years after their last work, the Italian band comprising Diego Fanelli (vocals), Mario Di Giambattista (guitar, Corpsefucking Art, Devangelic), Giorgio Cavaliere (bass) and Marco Coghe (drums, Devangelic, Posthuman Abomination) sign with Comatose Music to unveil Aberrant Vaginal Gestation, their fourth album.

We begin in anguish with the traditional sample of screams and torture explanations on Maggots Infested Clit, but the thick riffs soon strike, quickly joining the ranting to create an as catchy as brutal mix. The heavy moshparts are obviously part of the mix, as on Conceived in Vaginal Sores, where the pace accelerates without warning, and in turn we’re molested by jerky patterns where you can be sure of seeing some live movement. The regular changes of pace are perfect for landing on Analsphyxiation and its imposing Old School brutality of monstrous efficiency, which even welcomes sampled screams before picking up its pace again until Scrotal Abscess Drainage, which takes us on board without warning in its uninterrupted flow of violence with varied paces. Geriatric Ass Fucker is next to strike, and the track also features furious accelerations to complete its murderous groove, but the rhythm becomes even more devastating on Subcutaneous Cumshots and its infernal vociferations that fit perfectly with the various waves of rage. The final welcomes dissonant leads before Choked With Menstrual Drippings takes over, trampling us with stunned, breathless patterns until the track comes to an end. Greedy Fetal Discharge picks up where its predecessor left off with a rather similar approach before the final break, and then we can breathe again for a few moments under the wailing of Molesting Dislimbed Whore, but the riffs are never far away, and they’ll come down on us to drag us into Rectal Electroejaculation where the band pours out all its violence with a wild and very often frantic rhythm before finally consenting to let us regain our senses.

Vulvectomy hasn’t aged a bit, and Aberrant Vaginal Gestation can prove it! The album remains rooted in the uncompromising Old School approach to Brutal Death, and you can’t help but enjoy it!
