Blossoms Fall releases its first EP.
Formed last year in New Mexico, the trio composed of Shay Raelynn (vocals), Matt Torres (guitar/vocals), and Dion D. Elliott (drums) signed with Eclipse Records to unveil La Alma.

We kick things off with Prophecy, a track with heavy riffs that clearly show the band’s roots in modern metalcore, but which also offers a catchy groove to complement Shay‘s screams, as well as more ethereal touches and even Matt‘s clean vocals. The song remains fairly consistent and effective, allowing the two vocalists to blend together at times before moving on to the powerful finale and then Astray, which offers more energetic patterns and the same vocal alternation over simple but heavy riffs complemented by trippy samples. Abysmal offers us a gentle melody to catch our breath, but the saturation is not far away, restarting even before Luna arrives, where the three musicians set off again at a good pace, welcoming Wasted Potency to add a vocal touch full of effects. Back to raw energy on Affliction, where the detuned guitar is back at work, offering livelier touches supported by motivating drums, then the singing duo gets back on track, creating a contrast between powerful screams and cheesy passages bordering on Trap, then the band gets into Djent with La Alma, the final and eponymous track, which reveals a jerky approach and a few more complex touches, but doesn’t hesitate to stick to its usual mix at times.
If you like the Modern Metal scene, congratulations, Blossoms Fall is about to join your playlists! La Alma offers simple but effective Metalcore riffs, as well as a number of effects, samples, and other vocoder touches for a fairly contrasting result.
