Putred is already back.
Just over a year after their last release, Filip (vocals, Chaos Insignia, Necrotum, Vorus…), Uriel (guitar, Morbicus, Necrorite, Reveler, Vorus…), Corina (bass, Reveler, Vorus, ex-Deimos), Ficus (drums, Chaos Insignia, ex-Psychiatry), and Denis (guitar, Weeping Assault) are collaborating with Awakening Records on their third album, Blestemul Din Adânc.

The album opens with the gentle melody of Pandemonium, a soft and soothing acoustic intro that darkens slightly as it leads us into the heavy Sfâsiat… Stigmatizat, which immediately reconnects with the saturation of Death Metal. The addition of vocals to the staccato riffs easily reinforces the macabre mix infused with Old School tones but also putrid Doom, before finding a burst of energy on the final solo, then it’s Blestemul din Adânc that hits with a catchy staccato approach. The aggression remains constant even as the track slows down like its predecessor, displaying heavy and abrasive tones with the same lively final lead part, but Întâlnirea Mortala takes its place to trample us with more airy guitars during the harmonics. Cripta Vrajilor breaks new ground in angst, with an atmosphere that is much heavier than on the other tracks, regularly reinforced by screams in the background while relying on simple patterns. Devorat de Întuneric offers us a short sampled interlude before continuing with its slow and massive riffs. We return to a few double pedal passages with Groapa Oaselor, a slightly more lively creation but still rooted in these gloomy tones, which naturally adopts the crushing and repetitive rhythm as well as the few leads, while Catacombe Sângerii draws on Death/Thrash for its piercing tones, bringing an even more virulent touch to the accelerations. The track seems to be the most conducive to getting the crowd going, followed closely by Ultimul Clopot, which begins with ominous bells before unleashing some fat Old School riffs, taking advantage of a few accelerations and more imposing drums to stand out. The album ends with a cover of Subconscious Terror, a groovy and unifying track by the legendary Benediction, who are undoubtedly one of this band’s influences and who fit in perfectly with their aggressive sound.
I didn’t expect to see a new Putred album come out so quickly, but it’s clear that the band has been fast! Blestemul Din Adânc will undoubtedly appeal to fans of Old School Death Metal, returning to the roots of the style for even more macabre sounds!
