Necromonger is about to strike!
For their debut album, the Bulgarian trio comprising Pigman (vocals, Fecal Body Incorporated), Agrogrinder (guitar/bass, Off, ex-Fecal Body Incorporated), and Quill Rat (drums, Concrete) has chosen to sign with Xtreem Music. Let’s check out Emanation Of The Dying Perceptions!
We kick things off with Beyond the Pleasure Principle, the opening track that begins with a haunting sample before the ultra-heavy, ponderous sound hits, delivering a macabre groove alongside heavy-as-hell violence amplified by the vocalist’s bestial roars. The track remains fairly calm, but the slow blend of GoreGrind/Brutal Death infused with Death/Doom does its job before Born in Grave Wax brings a touch of vitality that’s sure to have us headbanging for just under two minutes, then a new sample awaits us before Dissection of Consciousness comes crashing down on us at a good pace. I simply advise you to switch off your brain if you haven’t already and enjoy the band’s raw, vicious riffs interspersed with agonizing cosmic pauses, finally leading into Meconium Eater, which charges in all at once and pins us to the ground for just over a minute. The samples return to frame the powerful sections of Confessions of a Dead Poet, a track that’s also quite massive during its aggressive passages, yet knows how to be unsettling as well, while Clite Skinner focuses solely on the thick groove that will quickly get a receptive audience moving. The band keeps the momentum going with Extract of Rotting Fetus, which brings to mind the golden age of macabre Grindcore, then Bloody Picasso lets us slow the pace a bit while staying in this auditory frenzy, with some livelier drum sections, and the Doom roots remain present to drive Autophagous Erection, the next track, which adopts similar patterns and skillfully pounds our skulls. We unsurprisingly find ourselves headbanging naturally before moving on to Slaughter to the Bones, which grants us a moment’s respite before the instruments kick back in and resume their putrid march, while the screams rage on until the very last moment.
The physical editions include bonus tracks: Necromonger on the CD – a very long, intensely unsettling instrumental piece that builds to a thick, heavy sound, as one might expect, even incorporating some dissonant lead parts – and Necrocannibal Pollution on the cassette – another extremely long track where the vocals return to continue the carnage – which will keep the fun going for fans. Two different, but interesting, experiences!
Necromonger couldn’t decide between Death/Doom and GoreGrind, so naturally the band chose to blend both! Emanation Of The Dying Perceptions is as heavy as can be, and you can bet it’ll have you headbanging between two terrifying samples.
