Review 1308 : Metalucifer – Heavy Metal Ninja – English

Metalucifer announces the release of their new EP.

After four studio albums and a large number of splits, live albums and other compilations, Gezolucifer (vocals/guitar/bass, Sabbat) and his companions offer us Heavy Metal Ninja in 2022.

The EP is released in several versions. One on Iron Oxide Records, Dying Victims Productions and Hells Headbangers Records at the beginning of the year, then on Nube Negra Prods, which offers English and Japanese versions of the tracks, as well as one on Horror Pain Gore Death Productions, which will offer karaoke versions of these four tracks instead of the Japanese versions.

It would be easy to talk about the compositions of this EP for hours, saying how they smell like Old School Heavy Metal from the 80’s, offering simple but efficient rhythmics accompanied by a federating chorus, piercing vocal surges, heady and epic melodies… but I won’t do it here. Why? Just because we all know just by reading the titles that Born To Play Heavy Metal will be the anthem we’re already singing, that Heavy Metal Ninja will offer us devastating harmonics to walk with vocal parts, or that New Wave Of British Heavy Metal is anchored in the roots of the style with British influences. I don’t need to tell you, you know and expect it. In my opinion, the surprise will come from Heavy Metal Bang Your Heads which also picks up on Thrash/Speed for fast and fierce parts, sightly diversifying the band’s sound.

Metalucifer is the somewhat cliché and cult band that everyone knows and which is easy to love. With Heavy Metal Ninja’s four new tracks, the band gives us four more reasons to say it loud and clear: Metal will never die.
