Do you know In Der Welt?
Created in France by Thomas Dupré (vocals/all instruments), the project announces the release of In Der Welt, its first album, which is described as Post-Hardcore oriented on the human being.
Persona, the first track, places raw visceral sounds coupled with obvious and omnipresent dissonance which allow some heady melodies to mix with aggressive screams. Blasts and frantic rhythmic patterns throw us into Solace, an ominous composition which lets a howling groove melt to heartbreaking and dark sounds, but also with hazy elements before the grimy final leads us to Watchtower that tinges its rage with a soothing sweetness. The jerky saturation and screams give this track its flavor, then the sample allows Dasein to place vindictive Hardcore roots while keeping that disturbing touch, but the track is very short, and it quickly lets Totem reveal its airy melodies. Again, saturation crushes the soaring sweetness before screams haunt the haunting rhythmic, but it will be crushed by Anxiety and its dark and abrasive Sludge roots. The final will makes us once again sink into anguish, which will be fed by Well Done Friends and its catchy aggressiveness borrowed from Post-Punk and its soaring choruses, but the rhythmic once again exposes us to rage and saturation, just like on Control which will succeed in drowning this wave of violence under lighter and heady patterns. Screams are obviously part of the game to feed darkness, but the instrumental is rather accessible, and it is only when white noise drowns it that violence will resurface, followed by Slow Motion, the last track that welcomes a spoken text, reminiscent of poetry slam. The rhythmic will become heavier and heavier, letting some screams pierce the haunting veil again, and the break will give a melancholic touch to this dark violence before giving way to silence.
In Der Welt forges its existence in its creator’s guts. The album is obviously rooted in Post-Hardcore, Post-Metal and saturation, but we feel that In Der Welt wants to convey a heavy and raw emotion. Do not miss this release.
