Solus Ex Inferis isn’t done yet.
In 2026, Dave Sevenstrings (guitar), “Lord” Marco Pitruzzella (drums, Six Feet Under, Waking the Cadaver, Neurogenic…), Sahil Makhija (vocals, Demonstealer, Demonic Resurrection, Targe), Matias Quiroz (lead guitar, Bleak Flesh), and Mauricio Catalán (bass, Catalán, ex-Pronoias) are back with a new EP, Teratogen.

The band kicks things off with Vermis – The Worm, a rather dark and aggressive track that quickly picks up speed, offering a jagged approach where violence and technical prowess blend amid the roars to create waves of rage barely broken by the haunting solo. The rhythm section takes over and carries us into Mutatio Genetica – Teratogen, the title track, where the spasmodic approach returns as the vocal parts multiply, giving the impression of surrounding us while the band goes all out to assault us, particularly on the drums. Next up is Sanguisuga – The Leech, which takes a fairly similar approach, delivering frenetic riffs and furious screams at a brisk pace, but the track is quite short as is In Languorem – The Sickness, which follows right on its heels and relies on shrill harmonics to add a dissonant touch to this track that doesn’t give us a single moment’s respite. It’s more of the same with Venatio – The Great Slaughter, which blends gory Death/Thrash influences with its Brutal Death roots and a touch of complexity, especially particularly in the intricate solo, but it’s already time to welcome the groovy Internecivus Raptus – Final Form, the closing track that allows the musicians to wrap up their EP on a catchy and energetic note while giving each instrument ample room to shine.
The formula hasn’t changed for Solus Ex Inferis, and it comes as no surprise that the short but effective Teratogen can hold its own at the top of this year’s release rankings, as its six tracks pack a powerful yet precise punch!
