Review 1445 : Deathsiege – Throne of Heresy – English

Deathsiege goes for the release of its debut album.

Formed in Israel in 2019, the band consisting of J.S (vocals, Svpremacist), A.M (drums, Har, ex-Whorecore) and T.D (guitar, Venomous Skeleton) relocates to Berlin, Germany, after two demos and a compilation, signs with Everlasting Spew Records and announces the release of Throne of Heresy in 2022.

All Roads Spiral Downwards, the first track, sets the basis for an aggressive and uncompromising style between Death and Black Metal which adopts the blast as a pillars for frantic riffs and massive screams. The rhythmic barely slows down to place piercing leads, then Dehumanized In Darkness takes over with a similar recipe the band will apply with rage while leading us to Harbringers of Finality and its Old School influences which let some Thrash accents appear. The sharp leads are grafted to the massive rhythmic, then Throne of Heresy, the eponymous track, comes to offer catchy and oppressive riffs which are a proof of the band’s mastery. The track continues its ascent in violence until the disturbing martial tones of Satanic Tyranny, an interlude which remains in the same atmosphere as the previous tracks, then At the Ruins of Legacy goes back to the most aggressive and sharpest elements to let brutality express itself with a dirty and fast mix. Revelations of Wretched Men lets speed rule the murderous riffs with unhealthy tones again but the track quickly gives way to Smear Campaign Triumph Eternal for wild and unbridled Grindcore influences. The comparison with a well known English band is inevitable, then the final sample lets Drowned by Murderous Force create a heavier sound to develop its bloody universe. Poisonous Worlds continues in the most raw and aggressive influences to offer straightforward and short riffs, just like Unworthy Adversary which lets some groovy influences mix with the ambient chaos before Siege of Death closes the album with catchy and federative tones.

If you want a taste of the unbridled violence, Throne of Heresy is the album to listen to. The frantic riffs blending Black, Death and aggressive influences let Deathsiege create a fast and crushing sound for half an hour of assault.
