Review 1451 : Desecrate The Faith – III – English

Desecrate the Faith comes to strike again.

Formed in 2012 in the United States, the band composed of John Hull (vocals, Gorgasm, ex-Viral Load), Mike Caputo (drums, Brand of Sacrifice, ex-Rings of Saturn), Tyler Shiery (guitar) and Coleson Cowden (bass) announce after two albums the release of III on Comatose Music.

Marvin Ruiz (Stabbing, Nephilim Grinder), former guitarist, plays lead guitars on the album.

Under the cover of a bloody artwork probably generated by artificial intelligence, Idle Creatures strikes  us with aggressive and uninterrupted riffs, letting the vocalist flood us with his massive screams. The most groovy and jerky moshparts give way to ripping solos, then Blood Scriptures adds piercing technical hints to its violent and thick base. The heady harmonics perfectly join the wave of pure rage, while Wretched Feast develops a heavy and disturbing atmosphere before letting blast, impressive screams and fierce riffs express themselves while keeping darkness. We still find some hypnotic melodies before Sadistic Euphoria lets the rawest elements relentlessly strike with thick and uncompromising Old School tones. The band follows up with Upon a Slaughtered Clergy which stays in similar tones than the previous track while placing accelerations and complex riffs, then Black Metal influences join the charge which drives us to This Butchered Earth and its catchy jerky riffs. The track plays with slightly more soaring sounds to accompany the devastating blast as with this final solo, letting Impulsive Mutilation go back to the most chaotic and oppressive violence. The mix leaves a more important place to the thick bass and the screaming harmonics, then the final break throws us on Vile of Legion and its unstoppable rage with greasy influences. The wild riffs coupled with cavernous vocal parts are extremely effective, as well as the throbbing tones of The Dead Testament which turn into waves of crushing and then dissonant heaviness before letting Omnes Ardeat close the album with an ominous and dark sound, completed by hellish leads and some massive screams before fading out.

Desecrate the Faith‘s sound is as powerful as ever, letting devastating riffs accompany massive screams. With III, the band is sure to hit the nail on the head with fans of raw and greasy violence.
