Review 066 : AHAB – The Giant

Ahab - Logo

Review 065 : Ego Fall – Inner M – English

Ego Fall - Logo

In your opinion, Asian Metal only refers to Visual Kei ? It means some things : firstly, you didn’t follow Acta Infernalis since a while, and secondly, you miss an awesome world. Eluveitie and Ensiferum are considered as the best Death/Folk bands, but Ego Fall is the chinese one ! Created in 2000 in Inner Mongolia, they only release their first record in 2008. Two albums will follow in 2010 and 2013, an EP and a split with Tengger Cavalery and Nine Treasures as well, two other raising Mongolian bands. We will focus now on Inner M, the second album.

Review 065 : Ego Fall – Inner M

Ego Fall - Logo

Review 064 : Avatar – The Black Waltz – English

Avatar - Logo

When you were young, each of you were at least once to the circus. The swedish drummer John Alfredsson obviously kept a deep memory of this moment, because he decided to create Avatar in 2001, with a circus inspired visual identity. He gathered Jonas Jarlsby (guitar/chorus), Henrik Sandelin (bass), Tim Öhrström (guitar) and the mad clown Johannes Michael Gustaf Eckerström (voice), and the band released their sixth album last year, but they really asserted their own style with the fourth record.

Review 063 : Days Of Lost – The 1st Book Of Blasphemy – English

Days Of Lost - Logo

You thought that Neo Metal was dead with 2010, isn’t it ? It’s wrong, because Days Of Lost was precisely created in 2010 by Okka (guitar, ex-MyGrain) and Pasi P.T.B. (bass) in Finland. They must wait until 2014 for recruiting their drummer Catsy and their singer M.C. Violenz (ex-Odalisque, ex-Sorrow Within), and to have a serious energy boost. In 2015, they record their first album that will only be released soon. If you’re not afraid by a bit of occultism, just come in with me to read the book.

Review 063 : Days Of Lost – The 1st Book Of Blasphemy

Days Of Lost - Logo

Continue reading « Review 063 : Days Of Lost – The 1st Book Of Blasphemy » →

Review 062 : Coffins – The Fleshland – English

Coffins - Logo

Japan… A country with traditions, new technologies, Visual Kei… and Coffins, a band that throws right in our faces some riffs as fat as three fast-foods since 1996. The band only release their first demo in 2000 because they wanted to improve their devastating riffs. They released a huge number of split albums (nineteen) and only four full-lengths.

Review 062 : Coffins – The Fleshland

Coffins - Logo

Review 061 : Bolt Thrower – Those Once Loyal – English

Bolt Thrower - Logo

If we should include just few bands into Death Metal Legend, Bolt Thrower is obviously one of them. Created in United Kingdom in 1986, the band suffered of some line-up troubles, but they settled down in 2004 with Karl Willetts on vocals, Gavin Ward and Barry Thompson on guitars, Jo Bench on bass (she is considered as the first woman to be in an Extreme Metal band) and Martin Kearns on drums. The band gave us eight pure Death Metal records before their disband in 2015 with Martin Kearns’ death in 2015.
